Culture Tuesday Sacred Heart

It's the week of the Sacred Heart, which we will celebrate this Friday, in the month traditionally dedicated to the Sacred Heart. And yesterday morning I was interviewed by Radio Maria England, occupying their Culture Tuesday slot. Previous guests have talked about art or music... I was there to talk about the Heart of Jesus, in thirty minutes which began with balloons and chocolate, and ended with Sophie's favourite prayer, embracing en route a few mystics, scripture, hugs, strawberries, an elderly Breton nun and our own Heart-centred spirituality and mission (of course!)

And if that sounds incredibly eclectic - yes, it is! But it is also at one with the Heart of God, through which flows the entire life of our world, in all its wonderful, eclectic diversity.

If I've whetted your appetite sufficiently, then you can listen to the podcast here - and if you want to see and read more about the 'heart on the outside' I refer to, it's here, also in Heaven. You can find the prayer with which we ended, here.

As the presenter said, this was my second time as a guest on Radio Maria England. The first time was three months ago, when I was interviewed about my work with Caritas Westminster, and specifically the warm spaces we had supported during the winter months. You can listen to that interview here

And if you were asked to talk about the Sacred Heart, what would you say?
