Fearfully and wonderfully made

Several days ago a friend gave me some tulips: wine-purple, and fading to deep crimson translucence in sunshine, they have been glorious to behold. This morning, their first petals fell, and as I picked them up, I paused and looked, then gazed on them intently. And I saw their lustre; their iridescent, delicately veined uniqueness... And I marvelled at how something as small and ephemeral as a tulip petal could contain so much loveliness...

And I heard these words of praise within me...

I will praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made.
Wonderful are your works; that I know very well. ~ Psalm 139.14

And if a single, short-lived tulip petal can be so fearfully and wonderfully made, can we believe the same and more about ourselves...?
